Buongiorno! Ho visto che si è deciso che la nuova distro sarà su dvd. Potete aggiungere jmol che è un ottimo visualizzatore di molecole in formato pdb, non permette di costruirle, ma esistono parecchi siti dove si possono scaricare. Ciao Ezio

Ciao * Ho provato ad installate nyala su un pc; la grafica e accattivante e mi piace molto (fra un po' superiamo il mac). In fase di installazione e post ho riscontrato i seguenti problemi: 1 - in fase di partizionamento manuale, quando scelgo "elimina" per eliminare la partizione già presente, compare la scritta "elemena"; 2 - la grafica del menu fuss è molto migliorata ma le voci " richiedi supporto" (documentazione, home fuss etc) sono scarsamente leggibili a causa del colore dello sfondo (o se preferite dal colore del testo); 3 - nel sources.list manca il repository di fuss. Comunque la nuova distro è proprio bella!!! Complimenti e chi ha curato la grafica???? Ciao Stefano

Nyala, cd singolo, due cd o dvd

ciao, visti i problemi di spazio che ci sono a fare stare tutto su un cd, vale la pena di pensare una distribuzione su 2 cd o su un dvd e che contenga veramente tutto, compresi gli addons? E' vero che i pc vecchi sarebbero tagliati fuori con la soluzione dvd, ma quanti pc vecchi sarebbero in grado di far girare decentemente la nuova distribuzione? Magari la distribuzione su due cd sarebbe la soluzione per avere una Nyala completa, che non costringe gli utenti a scaricarsi poi una valanga di pacchetti dalla rete. Poi, come dicevo con Christopher, se di default abilitiamo anche i repository multiverse facciamo solo un piacere agli utenti meno skillati grazie -- paolo <paolo(a)fuss.bz.it>

Adesso vado a casa e grazie comunque. Ti invio il risultato di un update su un client, dopo aver cancellato il contenuto di /var/spool/squid/ e riavviato il servizio. Riprenderò la cosa appena possibile; non ho necessità di aggiornare i client, volevo solo risolvere il problema. REPOSITORY: problemi

> C'e' da riprovare con il proxy adesso, magari svuotandogli la cache. Ho dovuto riavviare il server, perchè la tastiera non funzionava. Stamattina agivo dall'altra ala della scuola e non direttamente sul server. Cmq tornando a noi: non ho risolto nulla perchè /var/cache/squid sul server non esiste ??? In squid.conf la cache è solo 758 invece di 1000 Mb, può creare problemi? eventualmente se la portassi a 1000 con cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid 1000 16 256 cambia qualcosa? Ciao Ezio

Lista di configurazioni automatiche (distribuzione server)

Ciao, Vi invio la lista delle voci di configurazione in fase di installazione della distribuzione server che possono essere automatizzate con una risposta standard, accellerando (e semplificando) il processo di installazione del server. Fornendo dei valori, si evita di dover rispondere a tutte le domande, quindi se riusciamo a stabilire dei valori "standard" li inseriamo nell'installer. Lista in ordine sparso * uso di security.debian.org * partecipazione al popularity contest * usa mirror di rete * quale mirror usare * nazione * lingua predefinita * modello tastiera * layout tastiera * timezone * schema di partizionamento disco (per partizionamento guidato) * configurazione interfaccia di rete (statica, dhcp etc) * hostname * crea o meno un utente locale * password di root * utente da creare, se e' da creare * visualizzazione o meno del messaggio di fine installazione * messaggio di fine installazione Queste le cose principali. Poi posso anche, tramite scripts, eseguire delle operazioni ulteriori di configurazione, se necessarie (a parte quelle che fa fuss-server quando lo si crea) Fatemi sapere, ciao! C. -- Christopher R. Il problema è sicuramente nel proxy, ma dove? Premetto che gli utenti non hanno nessun tipo di problema nè nel login nè nell'autenticarsi su internet.
